MacArdle, McCardell, McCordele

Patrick MacArdle was born about 1810 in Ireland.

In January and February, 1839, Patrick McArdle (and James) were in the Gore Cavalry, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Glengarry Militia, Gore Volunteers, Grand River Volunteers, 1st Grenville Militia 2nd, Grenville Sedentary Volunteers.

He married Catherine Byrne.

Mary MacArdle Dwinnell was born about 1846. She married Holand Dwinnell.

In 1871, Catherine was living with the Dwinnells.

The first European settlements in Ontario were after the American Revolution when 5,000 loyalists left the new United States.

Andrew MacArdle was born about 1813 in Ireland.

He married Sarah McMullen.

They were Roman Catholic. They settled in Leeds County, Ontario.

Andew and Sarah's children included:

Catherine MacArdle (1840),
Moriah MacArdle (1842),
John MacArdle (1844),
Mary MacArdle (1846),
James Edward MacArdle (1848),
Susannah MacArdle (1850), and
Emily Jane MacArdle (1851).

At the time of the 1841 census, Andrew was in Leeds and Landsdown. The household consisted of one man, one woman, and a girl.
